Scholarship Program

About Scholarships

The scholarship program provides money raised through fund raising projects and raffles such as the 50-50 at monthly meetings. Companies, such as Kodak and Fuji, support the scholarship fund by giving CPPA 100 rolls of film, winners' choice of size and type, and other products each year to be raffled at the convention. The Scholarship committee has also raised money by selling CPPA hats, shirts and t-shirts. One year an art auction was held during the Convention. The art was donated by CPPA members and the proceeds of the auction went to the Scholarship Fund.

At the beginning of each program during the convention, there is a drawing for a scholarship. The winner must be in attendance at the program or working on a convention committee at the time of the drawing. One of the goals of the scholarship program is to promote attendance at the New England Institute of Professional Photography (NEIPP) sponsored by Professional Photographers Association of New England (PPANE). The scholarships must be used for education, preferably at NEIPP. Alternatively, the scholarship can be used to purchase books, tapes or attendance at other schools. Except for the Brignolo Scholarship, donated by Anne Brignolo in remembrance of her father, who founded Brignolo Studio, all of the funds given away have been raised by raffles or similar fund-raisers.
