The Missing Link - Evolution of a Successful Business
Presented by CPPA's Jennifer Roggi

Do you work too hard and have nothing to show for it? Are you working enough? Is the phone ringing? Are you meeting with people? Are they scheduling appointments and contracting weddings? What are you missing?
Contrary to popular belief, a good photo does not sell itself. Business skills are necessary in order to be successful in photography today. With new photographers cropping up everywhere, it is more important than ever to understand the business behind photography.
On Wednesday, May 28, come to the Laurel View Country Club in Hamden and find out what is really going on in your company. Explore the chain of events that start with making the phone ring and end with making the money. Hear how one studio took control and became one of the top performing studios in the country. Leave with the tools and resources necessary to steer your company in exciting new directions.
After teaching fifth grade for four years, Jen met and married a very talented photographer, Daniel Roggi. They purchased a studio and she made the decision to pursue a career in photography. Over the last ten years, they have worked side by side in their home-based wedding and portrait studio, creating a very profitable company.
Jennifer Roggi, Cr.Photog., ABI, CBM has become a talented photographer, but finds that her passion is really the area of business. Her choice to educate herself in this field has been one of the most important keys to their success. Creating a well organized studio that is devoted to customer service, they have created raving fans. Combining creative marketing with strong financial principles, they have become a very successful company capable of supporting their family of four.
Returning to her background in teaching, Jen currently works with photographers as a consultant for PPA’s Studio Management Services. Her goal is to help them gain control of their businesses so that they can achieve financial success while remaining true to their artistic vision.
Jen earned her Photographic Craftsman degree through PPA and is recognized by them as an Approved Business Instructor. Recently she received her Certificate of Business Management. Jen is an active member of CPPA, PPANE, ASP and PPA.
Do you just want to make pretty pictures or do you want to make a comfortable living as a professional photographer? If it is the latter, then don’t miss this very important program on May 28. Jen has a proven track record and is excited about sharing her knowledge with her CPPA brothers and sisters. She has the talent to take what many consider a boring topic and makes it exciting, and what can be more exciting than increasing your bottom line? Be sure to attend the CPPA program on Wednesday, May 28 at the Laurel View Country Club and allow Jen to show how you can survive the current economic quagmire.
