by John R. Hartman, M.Photog. Cr., CPP, EA-ASP
See schedule below

Bio

John Hartman has owned and operated his highly successful central Wisconsin studio since 1974, specializing in high school senior, family and children’s portraiture.

A sought-after lecturer and author, he has been a featured presenter at many national and state conventions. He has had articles published in numerous magazines and trade journals, and has written several best-selling industry books and software products such as QuickMats, QuickProofs, Senior Ideas and SeniorMarketing.

Considered one of the nation’s foremost experts on marketing and merchandising professional photography, John is constantly developing and testing new product styles, marketing and sales methods to grow his studio and those of others. His Marketing Boot Camp is the longest-running and most successful business seminar for the portrait/wedding studio.

John is also enthusiastically expanding his photographic skillset. Working well outside the box, he recently completed a one-man gallery show of HDR panoramic and infrared photography, which can be seen at www.jhartman.com/artshow. He has used these techniques to develop new photographic styles and products for his portrait business.

Seminar Description

It's no secret that many photography studios are struggling these days. Yet there are some that are flourishing right now - growing their session volume, raising their average sales, improving their bottom lines - even in this down economic climate.

What are these studio owners doing that most aren't?

The answers are surprisingly simple - they employ a combination of smart product development, street-savvy marketing, outrageous service and deft merchandising to produce superior results that draw clients who love their work and are willing to pay for it (all without the need of a slash-and-burn sale).

John Hartman's fast-paced multimedia presentation will show you how he evolved state-of-the-art photographic and imaging techniques into unique product lines that attract new clients. You will see how he developed this new market niche and learn how he markets, prices, services and sells his work to keep clients coming back and telling their friends about him.

John is nationally known for his marketing skills, but success in today's economic clients requires not only a very solid marketing knowledge, but also a powerful understanding of what clients really want from a portrait studio (hint: it's NOT portraits).

You will go away from this program with very specific and easy-to-implement information that will improve your imaging techniques, your marketing prowess, your sales skills and your service abilities. Get ready to grow your studio in 2010!
